The 17 year old Plaintiff was involved in an automobile accident while driving a pickup truck when a small horse suddenly darted in front of his vehicle and was thrown on top of the Mazda pickup crushing the roof of the pickup onto the Plaintiff. The Plaintiff is a quadriplegic as a result of the injuries he sustained in this accident. It was the Plaintiff’s position that the truck was not crashworthy in that the roof was not built strong enough to withstand foreseeable impacts. The case was tried in Greene County and the jury returned a verdict of $15,000,000.
