Plaintiff was a volunteer swimming coach and as he opened the door to the swimming pool area the building exploded resulting in third degree burns to 80% of the Plaintiff’s body and more than $1.5 million in medical bills. The Plaintiff claimed that the explosion was the result of the negligent installation and maintenance of the swimming pool heater and associated components. Plaintiff proceeded against multiple Defendants on the basis that the propane supplier was negligent and the pool heater manufacturer was negligent and/or designed a defective pool heater.
